Doug Green...The Coach A little about me... I am currently the head coach of South Coast Masters swim team. I have been a masters swim coach since 2005. I am a technique specialist. I have provided well over two thousand hours of swim coaching and instruction. I have trained hundreds of beginning swimmers, tri-athletes, water polo players, competitive club and master’s swimmers in the Conejo Valley. I am an active member of United States Masters Swimming, Southern Pacific Masters Association, USA Swimming and American Swim Coaches Association, wherein I am an ASCA Level ll certified coach. I am American Red Cross certified in water safety, first aid, CPR and AED. I was a competitive swimmer beginning at the age of eight. I was a nationally ranked swimmer until I started playing other sports in junior and senior high school. I returned to swimming while in junior college, where I achieved All-American status. After a twenty-six year hiatus, I began masters swimming and competition. Within two years, I achieved USMS-All-American status. I achieved one FINA "World's Fastest Masters Swimmer" ranking in 2000 (in the Men’s 45-49 year old, 200 meter freestyle.) I also achieved many other top ten national rankings within USMS, and world rankings within FINA Masters Swimming. I offer advanced one on one coaching, with an emphasis on correct technique, while providing each swimmer clear, simple and understandable instruction. Swim well then fast! |
